Max Dollars FAQ

What Is Max Dollars? | How Do I Qualify For Max Dollars? | FAQ

Q: How do I submit videos for Max Dollars? A: Select the Submit tab and choose the video you wish to upload. It is not our policy to review submissions until they pass the entry thresholds for Max Dollars. Once your video passes the thresholds we will contact you within five working days.
Q: What can I submit for Max Dollars? A: Anything as long as you own it and it's suitable for all audiences. That means no adult, erotic, violent, illegal or hateful content. We're looking for the broadest range of entertaining and suitable user-generated content. Max Media TV reserves the right to refuse any video entry.
Q: What is a content duplicate? A: A content duplicate is a video that contains the same basic material as another, i.e., the same card trick performed by two different people. If we have already accepted a video into Max Dollars, then we will not accept another one that is similar. Max Media TV strives to have the widest variety of videos on its site, so we filter out as many duplicates as possible. Max Media TV reserves the right to refuse any video entry.
Q: How important are my video's thumbnail, title, description, and tags? A: These things are just as important as your video's content. A good thumbnail, title and description can attract more viewers which can help kick start its viral lifecycle. Adding a sexy still to the start and then using that as a 'representative' thumbnail for an all together different kind of video is inappropriate. Given that we don't have the time to change thumbnails, our only option at the moment is to reject these items for max Dollars when they pass the thresholds and we discover them. This rule also applies to inappropriate titles, descriptions and tags -- they should only contain text that is related to the video. Videos submitted with inappropriate 'packaging' will not be accepted.
Q: What will I get paid? A: Max Media TV pays $100 per every 50,000 views with payment beginning after you pass the initial thresholds. With many videos on Max Media TV getting over a million views, Max Dollars could be a very healthy monthly income for your videos.
Q: What are the thresholds? A: Max Media TV has set a minimum threshold for each video of 50,000 views with a rank of at least 3.50. This number of views may seem like a high threshold when compared to other online video sites, but at Max Media TV the best videos can cross this threshold in a single afternoon.
Q: When do my views begin to count? A: Your views begin to count the moment you click the button. If you immediately submit your video, then every single view will count. If you submitted it later, then every view from that point on will count.
Q: How do I know if my video has been accepted? Do I receive a contract? A: Once your video has passed the thresholds, it is reviewed by our team members. If your video is accepted, then you will receive a contract by email. Each video accepted to Producer Rewards will have a separate contract. Your videos' status is viewable from your My Videos page.
Q: Do I still own the rights to my videos? A: Yes, the Max Media TV contract is non-exclusive leaving you free to license the same video to as many different places as you wish. That being said, your participation gives Max Media TV a perpetual and irrevocable license to market your video to any other media.
Q: How will I get paid? A: Max Media TV offers a number of payment choices such as payment into a US bank account, onto a debit card, or through PayPal?. As soon as you reach the payment threshold, you will be asked for your payment preference.
Q: Do I have to be in the US to enter? A: No. Max Media Tv accepts submissions from anywhere in the world. Wherever you are, your video can earn you money.
Q: What file formats does Max Media TV accept? A: You can submit files with any of the following file extensions: 3gp, .flv, .mp4, .mov, .qt, .asf, .avi, .divx, .mpa, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .wmf, and .wmv.
Q: Is there an optimum video length for entries? A: Over five minutes is probably too long and under 20 seconds is probably too short.
Q: There are other people appearing in my video, do I need their approval before applying? A: In order to qualify for Max Dollars, you must hold all the rights to the video you submit. This may require asking your friends to sign a release form. If you are unsure, contact us for further advice.
Q: Do I need the rights to use music in my videos? A: Max Media TV has a very strict policy regarding the use of copyrighted content. If there is any doubt about whether you own all the rights to the video you submit, Max Media TV will not accept it. It is far better to make your own sounds or contact Max Media TV for advice. If you own the copyright for music on your video that you think we might mistake for copyrighted material, drop us a line once you have uploaded your video and we will make a note of it.
Q: Why hasn't my video appeared on the Most Recent page? A: The release of your video to the Most Recent page does not depend on the date you submitted the video, nor does it depend on the date that your video was released from status Under Review. There is no time limit for when your video may be released to the Most Recent page, so if your video doesn't make it in the first two days, it does not mean that it will not be released later on. As long as your video maintains a rank of at least a 3.50, its chances of being released to the Most Recent page are high.
Q: I have another question that isn't on the FAQ page. How do I contact Max Media TV? A: You may find many of your questions have already been asked and discussed in depth in our forums. If you don't find an answer there, you can start a new thread and someone will respond. If you're still not satisfied send us an email to Maxdollars@Maxmediatv.com keep in mind that it may take up to 5 working days to get back to you.
